From July 2024, you will start to see a new name on the communications you receive about your NEC Staff Pension Scheme. Our administration services, previously delivered by Mercer, are now provided by Aptia UK Limited (“Aptia”).
This follows Aptia’s purchase of Mercer’s UK pension administration business on 1 January 2024, meaning that the same services are now delivered under Aptia’s branding rather than Mercer’s. As their notice explains, “your pension benefits are now being administered by Aptia” and “this change has not, and will not, impact the service you receive or your pension benefits.”
What this means for you
In practical terms, very little changes for members. You do not need to take any action, and your usual contact routes remain the same. Over the coming months you may see both Mercer and Aptia branding while the transition is completed. The administrator confirms that “this is not something to be concerned about.”
Who are Aptia?
Aptia is a specialist provider of pension and employee benefits administration, supporting more than seven million people across over 1,100 clients in the UK and US. Their teams combine experienced administrators with modern technology to deliver reliable, efficient support for members. They deliver solutions that “ensure the smooth management of pension plans” through a dedicated team of experts.
Why the Trustees are sharing this
The Trustee wants members to be aware of the branding change so that future communications are easily recognised. The administration team you deal with remains the same, and the quality of service and security of your benefits are unaffected.
If you have any concerns or questions about the change, you can continue to contact the administrators using your usual details.
